The LSA funds a variety of necessary and reasonable treatment, care and support services. One support that the LSA funds is Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) for participants who may have significant functional impairment and very high support needs as a result of the motor vehicle injuries.  The need for SDA is assessed by an Occupational Therapist and is funded by the LSA when considered necessary and reasonable to meet participants’ accommodation needs following their injury and the provision of attendant care support as needed.

The LSA does not have an existing panel of accommodation providers but is able to directly engage SDA providers when it has been identified that a suitable SDA property to meet participant need is being built. By securing suitable SDA in the early build stage, the LSA is able to better meet the needs of those participants with very high support needs who require accommodation.

Providers who are developing, building or have access to SDA properties can notify the LSA via: LSASpecialistSupport@sa.gov.au.
