LSS Participant Holly Scott recently shared her story to promote road safety in the lead up to Easter. As SAPOL’s inaugural Road Safety Advocate, Holly regularly draws upon her motor vehicle accident experience and rehabilitation journey to urge drivers to take extra care on our roads.
She was recently interviewed by the Post, an online news website with a focus on stories affecting young South Australians. The Post came to the LSA office to meet Holly and hear her story. Throughout the interview, Holly delved into the circumstances of her motor vehicle accident, her rehabilitation, what life looks like today as well as raising awareness of the consequences of risky driving behaviours such as mobile phone use. Holly highlighted the far-reaching impact of motor vehicle accidents, including witnesses, emergency responders, as well as the family and friends of all involved. Her story was a powerful reminder that your driving decisions are not just about you.
Holly’s interview helped spread the critical road safety message in the lead up to the Easter long weekend which is a notorious time for accidents on our roads.
