The 9th National Brain Injury Conference brought leading brain injury and disability specialists to Adelaide. The LSA proudly sponsored this year’s conference which was held Tuesday 24 to Thursday 26 September 2024 at Adelaide Oval.
This annual conference, led by Brain Injury Australia, brought together people with lived experience of brain injury, their families and carers, service providers, researchers and injury specialists to share insights, discuss challenges and drive improvements in services and supports for people living with a brain injury.
Many LSA staff seized this professional development opportunity to hear the latest approaches to issues facing people living with a brain injury as well as network with specialists in the field and those personally affected by brain injury.
The LSA also contributed to knowledge sharing with senior staff sharing valuable insights based on their experience. Staff presentations included:
- Manager Service Planning, Caitlin Fulton shared client and clinician perspectives on sexuality and rehabilitation following traumatic motor vehicle injuries
- Director, Services, Kylie Smith considered how ‘Version 2.0’ for people with lived experience of brain injury might be as good or even better than ‘Version 1.0’
- Senior Manager, Penny White drew on client and employer perspectives to share learnings on how to realise the benefits of employment for people with brain injury.
