LSA employees have been generating pedal power as they cycle around the city on their very own bright orange bike.
LSA has recognised the benefits of cycling with a number of staff regularly using the bike to get themselves to appointments and meetings in the city and surrounding areas.
As a result, LSA have eliminated the need to wait for buses and taxis, and a 20-minute walk has become a 6-minute cycle. There are also the obvious cost savings and health and wellbeing benefits being enjoyed.
LSA aims to provide a positive work environment for its staff, and the bike is one way it is achieving that goal. Those who have used the bike have found it is significantly less stressful than more conventional transport and they find they get there far quicker!
Bike SA helped equip the organisation with everything they needed to know about bike safety, with a “Be Safe Be Seen” workplace presentation to LSA staff.
Next time you see the bright orange bike in the city, give the LSA cyclist a wave!
