On February 25, LSA hosted the biannual Peak Bodies Forum, which brought together the six key industry organisations that have an interest in Lifetime Support Scheme (LSS) participants.
The Forum was led by LSA chief executive Lois Boswell and looked at LSA policy and service developments, reviewed sector-wide developments that may impact people with long-term disability and provided feedback to the organisations on the services they provide to LSS participants.
Chief executive Lois Boswell said it was an informative gathering that discussed progress of the scheme and a range of emerging issues.
“It’s integral to the success of the Lifetime Support Scheme that we continue to engage these organisations, who are all experts in their field, to ensure we continuously improve the services we are providing to our participants.”
The group agreed that the Peak Bodies Forum will now be held quarterly, rather than twice yearly.
The current list of Peak Bodies is:
- Brain Injury Network of South Australia
- Carers Association of SA Inc
- Community Housing Council of SA Inc
- Julia Farr Association Purple Orange
- Office of the Public Advocate
- Paraplegic and Quadriplegic Association of SA
