One of the key elements to the Lifetime Support Scheme, is our partnership with attendant care services providers – HenderCare is one such organisation.
The partnership with HenderCare, enables us to meet the health and wellbeing needs of participants and, importantly, helps them with daily tasks that they may not be able to do on their own due to their injuries.
HenderCare has a large pool of qualified carers across South Australia who provide support, attendant care and complex care to LSA participants.
HenderCare’s Chief Executive Officer, Amanda Blight, said that HenderCare staff encourage and motivate participants to live life to their full potential.
“We encourage participants to engage in activities of daily living and community life, and to maintain their pre-injury relationships and friendships. Although rehabilitation is our primary focus, we want all of our participants to be the very best they can be.”
“We carefully match our carers to LSA’s participants and indeed we encourage each participant to be involved in selecting their own support team. It is so important that participants are actively involved in the care they are provided, and who provides it.”
“My aim for our work with the LSA is to see participants who are living enriched and full lives, regardless of their injuries.”
“There is such enormous benefit from the Lifetime Support Scheme – it is not only improving the outcomes of severely injured South Australians, but it is also providing comfort and assurance to their family and friends.”
